BAZAR BLÅ
Appearing in "Spring in Niavaran" (2005), "Clouds"(2008)
The
swedish trio create their own, new folk music and call it
Transglobal Tripfolk. 1999 their debut album, Nordic City,
was nominated as "folk-music record of the year". Bazar
Bla also collaborate with the well known Harp player Asita Hamidi
under the name of Bazaari's. Bazar Bla performed live in Tehran
(May, 2004) and also jammed with Iranian musicians.
MEYER,
Björn
(1965):
Bassplaye r
from Stockholm and founder of Bazar Bla. Active
as freelance musician since 1989.
Moved to Switzerland in 1996 and
is a very sought-after musician, performing concerts
and doing session-work. He works with many
highly regarded projects in Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Spain
and Sweden.
HEDIN, Johan (1969)
Nyckelharpa-player,
composer and instrument-developer(constructor)
from Kalmar in southern Sweden. Born in 1969, started
playing Nyckelharpa a t the age of 12 and
received the title "Riksspelman" (a title of honour for
folk-musicians in Sweden) in 1992.
Apart from leading his own projects - his
solo-album /Warner Music/ has been released in many parts of the
world - he is also a member of "Världsmusikorkestern" led by Ale
Möller, "Nyckelharpsorkestern", "Triptyk" etc. - some of the most
acclaimed folk music formations
in Sweden. He also teaches at the
conservatory in Stockholm.
GILLE, Fredrik (1971):
Percussionist
from Eskilstuna, Sweden. Collects instruments,
playing-techniques and inspiration from percussion-traditions all
around the world. He has for example studied Tablas in Bombay.
Since
2001, Fredrik
lives
frequently in Spain, Italy and Sweden
and
also
plays amongst others with a number of the finest flamenco-artists in
Spain, Switzerland and Sweden.
