Ankido Darash

Born in Tehran, Ankido Darash studied the cello and composition under such musicians as Nasser Nazar, Mohsen
Tooyserkani, Abbas Zahireddini, Plus Khofri, Davud Ja'ffari Omid and Shahrokh
Khajehnouri. He has received his Masters of Arts in Composition from the Azad University of Tehran in 2004.
As a cello player he has played for the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of Tehran and the Niavaran
Orchestra (conducted by Thomas Christian David). He was a meister in Tehran
Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Sharif Lotfi) and the National Iranian Orchestra (conducted byFarhad Fakhreddini).
His musical career as a composer found a new life through theater. He has written numerous scores for plays as well as for documentary or feature films. He has received many awards for his theater scores, including The Eighth Adventure (director Arvand Dashtarai) from the
21st International Fajr Theater Festival (Tehran, 2003), Devil's Ship (director Atila Pesyani) performed at the International
Edinburgh Festival (2008) and Metabolic (Atila Pesyani) from the 27th
International Fajr Theater Festival (Tehran, 2008)
