The unique band founded by François Couturier continues to draw inspiration from the films of Andrei Tarkovsky as its frame of reference expands. What began with
Nostalghia: Song for Tarkovsky (ECM, 2006) and continued with the solo piano in

Shostakovich are to be found in the compositions here, as are compelling group improvisations.

Throughout, the musicians enter into a dialog that is very intense and focused regardless of the music and the space. François Couturier: piano
Anja Lechner: violoncello
Jean Louis Matinier: accordion
Jean Marc Larché: soprano saxophone
The Quartet will play on February 16 and 17 at the Tehran Vahdat Hall.
